Lanzarote - Canary Islands Spanish miracle on

The island of Lanzarote - the most eastern island of the seven Canary Islands. Off the coast of Africa, it is separated by about 125 km. The length of the island about 60 km and width of 15 km. All of its area is 845.9 square kilometers and is the fourth largest of the Canary Islands. Of the 213-kilometer coastline of Lanzarote 10 km falls on sandy beaches.

Lanzarote, like the rest of the island of the Canary archipelago is of volcanic origin. But here it is, perhaps, much better - because on this small island located just 300 volcanoes. In 1730 the island simultaneously erupted just 30 volcanoes eruption itself lasted six years. As a result of this tremendous eruption nearly a third of the entire island was covered with lava and covered with ashes. Therefore, plant and animal life on the island is still relatively scarce. But this is compensated for its amazing beauty and unusual scenery of the island.
